Virginia Ruth Ravenscroft, 90, Ohiopyle, passed away Thursday, August 1, 2019 at Laurel Ridge Center, Uniontown. She was born June 15, 1929 in Ohiopyle, a daughter of Elmer and Gladys (Hyatt) Hall. Her parents and husband, Marcellus C. "Sam" Ravenscroft preceded her in death. She is survived by her sons, Marke and wife, Kathryn, San Diego, CA, Steven, Confluence and Kevin, Ohiopyle; granddaughters, Angela and Jennifer and great grandchildren, Benjamin and Ellie. Ruth was a member of the Falls City Baptist Church where she also served as secretary/treasurer for a number of years. She was also a member and former treasurer of the Ohiopyle Grange No. 1933 and a member of Uniontown Chapter 263 O. E. S. She formerly served on the Ohiopyle Borough Council for over 40 years and was a past board member of the Ohiopyle-Stewart Community Center and Ohiopyle-Stewart Vol. Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday at the Humbert Funeral Home in Confluence, where a service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday. Interment will follow in Johnson Chapel Cemetery. There will be viewing one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
