Thomas G. Close, Jr., 55, Confluence, passed away Tuesday, April, 7, 2026 at his home. He was born July 13, 1970 in Mt. Pleasant, a son of Thomas G. Close and the late Louise (Ulderich) Close. He is survived by his father and three children; Ashley Close (Douglas Rugg), Jessica Close (Dalton Griffith) and Thomas G. Close III, all of Confluence; grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Ryleigh, Remington and Harper and a brother, Douglas (Cristina), Confluence. Tom was a graduate of Turkeyfoot Valley Area High School Class of 1988. He was a self-employed electrician and an EMT. He was a 40 year member of the Confluence Vol. Fire Dept., serving as chief for 11 years. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday at the Humbert Funeral Home in Confluence, where a service will be held at 1 PM Saturday with Rev. Samuel McClintock officiating. Interment will follow in Johnson Chapel Cemetery. There will be viewing one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
