Ruth K. Wirsing, 90, of Markleysburg and formerly of Addison, passed away Monday, November 25, 2019 at South Fayette Nursing Center, Markleysburg. She was born May 12, 1929 in Grantsville, MD, a daughter of Cyrus and Ruth (Miller) Holliday. Her parents and husband, Calvin "Es" Wirsing preceded her in death. She is survived by sons, Frank Wirsing and wife, Mindy Lambert, Clifton, ID and Chauncey Wirsing, Addison and a daughter, Emily Wirsing and husband, James Helms, Morgantown, WV; also, three grandsons, Eston, Clay and Dmitry Wirsing. Ruth was a graduate of Confluence High School and a member of the Old Petersburg Historical Society of Addison. She enjoyed hunting and making jelly and dandelion wine. For many years she assisted her husband in his building and contracting business and in the operation of Farmer Brown's Animal Farm in Addison. At Ruth's request there will be no viewing or visitation. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Addison United Methodist Church, PO Box 143, Addison, PA 15411.
