Robert G. Lancaster, 81, Addison, was called home by our Lord on Thursday, February 15, 2024 with his loving family at his side.  Fondly known as Bob, he was the last baby born in Somerfield on February 7, 1943. He was the son of Robert F. and Marie L. (Lohr) Lancaster. His parents and sisters, Marybelle Wilt and Vonda Lee "Bonnie" Kieffer preceded him in death. He is survived by four children – Mary Close (John), New Salem, Linda Fisher, Ohiopyle, Lori McCartney, Addison and Robert J. "Bobby" Lancaster, Addison; grandchildren, Amanda Cox, Jennifer Show, Jesse Klink, Alyssa Klink, Jadyne Close, Brittany Sulik, Bobbi Jo Rush, Rachael Eggleston and Brandon Brown; 17 great grandchildren and special friends, Bob Burkett, Rachel and Naomi Maust, Caroline Thomas and Doris Friend. Bob worked as a steelworker at Youngstown Sheet and Tube until the mill closed in 1976. He then was employed as a fuel delivery driver for Ringer Petroleum in Markleysburg. While there he became certified in heating and air conditioning and worked as an installation and repair technician. He later was employed by Garrett Co. (MD) School District until retirement. Following retirement he founded Lancaster's Lakeside Home Repair. Bob was an avid fisherman, hunter, gunsmith and a great mechanic. He loved boating, camping, nature and the Youghiogheny Lake, where he made wonderful memories with his family. He liked reading Louie L'Amour books and watching old westerns, but mostly, he loved spending time and sharing his love and knowledge with family and friends. Friends will be received from 12 – 3 PM Sunday at the Humbert Funeral Home in Confluence, where a service will follow the viewing at 3 PM with Rev. Samuel McClintock officiating.
