Robert Max Hostetler, 93, Confluence, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2026 at his home. He was born February 25, 1932 in Confluence, a son on Andrew and Helen (Gower) Hostetler. His parents, sons, Kenneth and Butch, grandson, Rob, brother, Tom and sister, Norma Jean Hostetler preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Irene (Burnworth), sons, John (Marcia), Bruceton Mills, WV, Dave (Tonya), Confluence and Terry (Diane), Farmington; daughters-in-law, Linda Hostetler, Confluence and Kris Hostetler, Farmington; brothers, Jack (Bernice), Confluence and Warren Lee (Cheryl), Sneads Ferry, NC; 18 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews and numerous cousins. Max was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather, brother and uncle. He was a proud family man and a man of strong faith. He was a member of Johnson Chapel Methodist Church and a truck driver for all of his working life. After retirement, Max enjoyed his time mowing grass. He is now at peace, resting in God's eternal care. Friends will be received from 4-8 PM Monday at the Humbert Funeral Home in Confluence, where a service will be held at 11 AM Tuesday with Rev. Kenneth Steele officiating. Interment will follow in Johnson Chapel Cemetery. There will be viewing one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Johnson Chapel Church Community Outreach Fund.
