L. Paul Sproul, 76, of Ohiopyle, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 9, 2018 in his home surrounded by his family. He was born May 22, 1942 in Ohiopyle, a son of Aimee (Lambie) Sproul of Ohiopyle and the late Wentzel Sproul. His father and a son, John Brame preceded him in death. He is survived by his mother, wife of 32 years, Linda and their sons, Kenneth Sproul and wife, Lisa, Pittsburgh, Jerry Brame and wife, Shannon, Dunbar, Kevin Sproul and wife, Lisa, Ohiopyle and Keith Sproul and wife, Kimberlee, Farmington; 22 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren and 10 Siblings. Mr. Sproul retired from dairy farming after 37 years. In addition to farming, he and Linda were honored foster parents of 36 children over a period of 20 years. As well as a great dad, he was a true farmer at heart. He enjoyed field work, livestock, antique tractors and sharing his knowledge of them all. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Wednesday at the Humbert Funeral Home in Confluence, where a service will be held at 2 PM Thursday with Rev. Lee Maley officiating. Interment in Johnson Chapel Cemetery. There will be viewing one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Arrangements by Humbert Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc.
