Pamela Hughes, 67, of Confluence, peacefully passed away Sunday, September 29, 2019 with her family at her side, after a short stay at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. Pamela was preceded in death by her parents, John and Anna (Kurtz) Hughes of Confluence.  She is survived by her brother, John Hughes, sister, Kathy Hughes, niece, Sarah Hughes, nephew, David Hughes, grand-nephews, Zen and Sebastian Patton, and her cousin, Jill McLean Harrington. Pamela was born in Fairbanks, AK, and graduated from Turkeyfoot Valley Area High School in 1970.  She graduated from West Virginia University in Morgantown with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1975.  She taught art education at Lake Braddock Secondary School in Fairfax, Virginia from 1975 to 1982.  In 1982 she joined General Motors where she had a successful and fulfilling career that assigned her to many different locations across the United States, Beijing and Shanghai, China. After retirement, Pamela enjoyed her home in Pennsylvania, and many hobbies including: gardening, knitting, antiquing, dog rescue, reading, and cooking. One of her great joys was entertaining with family and friends. Pamela was a sister, an aunt, a cousin and a terrific friend. She was a fierce warrior and a force to be reckoned with, and she will be sorely missed by all. The Hughes family would like to thank all of Pam's friends both near and far for their generous loving support, thoughts and prayers. A celebration of Pamela's life will be held in the spring, with details announced at a later date.
