Nancy L. Turney, 85, Confluence, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2020 at Conemaugh Health System's Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. She was born April 7, 1935 in Confluence, a daughter of Herbert and Mae (Keslar) Smith. Her parents, son, Rex Turney, sister, Geraldine Smith and brother, Jack Smith preceded her in death. She is survived by three daughters, Kathy Leo-Kohr and husband, Dwayne Kohr, Carlisle, Cheryl Hyson and husband, David, Ft. Myers, Florida and DeeAnn Nickelson, Johns Island, South Carolina; grandchildren, Joseph Leo and wife, Anna, Alexander Hillberry and wife, Elisa, Gage Turney and J.C. Nickelson; sisters, Marlyn Dwire and husband, Roy, Somerset and Sarah Fitzpatrick and husband, George, Confluence. Nancy was a 1953 graduate of Confluence High School. She retired from Turkeyfoot Valley Area School District after 20 years employment and was a sales person for Avon for over 44 years. Friends will be received from 3-7 PM Sunday at the Humbert Funeral Home in Confluence, where a service will be held at 1 PM Monday with Rev. Samuel McClintock officiating. Interment will follow in Kingwood I.O.O.F. Cemetery. There will be viewing one hour prior to the service on Monday. In compliance with recent COVID-19 mandates, facial coverings and social distancing will be required.
