Luther B. "Herk" Nace, Jr., 90, Confluence, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2025 at his home. He was born August 7, 1934 in Latrobe, a son of Luther B., Sr., and Kathryn (Stiffey) Nace. He was predeceased by his first wife, Anna (Diehl), second wife, Catherine (Richter), daughter, Margaret Leone, son, Luther Byron Nace, daughter-in-law, Christa Nace, granddaughters, Kristy Lyn Nace and Anna Marie Armstrong, brother, Ed Nace and sisters, Judy Rubeck, Catherine Eissinger and Harriet Singer. Surviving are grandchildren, Emily Spears (Dale), Meyersdale, Nellie Jacob (Dan), Cairnbrook and Seth and Sable Leone, both of Springs; great grandchildren, Tanner Armstrong, Evie and Milo Jacob and a brother, Leroy Nace (Sandra), Confluence. "Herk" was a farmer by trade and a US Army veteran. He was a collector of antique automobiles and a semi-professional gunsmith. He was a member or former member of the NRA, Turkeyfoot Valley School District Board of Directors, Wheelers and Dealers Square Dancers and the PA State Grange No. 1690, Wills, PA, of which he was a member for 60 years. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Sunday at the Humbert Funeral Home in Confluence, where a service will be held at 11 AM Monday with Rev. Samuel McClintock officiating. Interment will follow in Jersey Cemetery. There will be viewing one hour prior to the service on Monday.
