Loretta Jean (Rugg) Thomas, 71, Ursina, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 24, 2022 at UPMC Somerset. She was born May 2, 1950 in Somerset, a daughter of Kenneth and Dorothy (King) Rugg. Her parents and husband of 45 years, Donald R. Thomas preceded her in death. She is survived by a daughter, Lisa Megown and husband, Ron and a son, Michael Thomas, all of Ursina; grandsons, Anthony and Derrick Megown; great grandchildren, A. J. and Alora, the highlights of her life and brothers, Roger, Terry, Greg and William Rugg; also numerous nieces and nephews. Loretta was a 1968 graduate of Turkeyfoot Valley High School and Humboldt Institute in Minnesota. She was an employee of Le-Han Associates for 17 years and drove a school van for Turkeyfoot Valley School District for many years. She was a member of Ursina American Legion Post 946 Ladies Auxiliary and the United Community Church of God and W.C.S.C. Friends will be received from 12-2 PM Monday at the United Community Church of God in Ursina. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 2 PM with Rev. Dean Hay, Jr. officiating. Interment in Kingwood I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
