John W. Turney, 86, of Addison, passed away Friday, December 6, 2013 in Golden Living Center, Meyersdale. He was born May 30, 1927 in Addison, a son of Clarence Ray and Mae M. (Jeffreys) Turney. His parents, wife, E. Lavern (Miller) Turney, a brother, Clay and a sister, Maude Metz preceded him in death. He is survived by daughters, Linda Watson and husband, Woody, of Addison and Becky Knisely and husband, Rusty, of West Finley; granddaughters, Kara Fluharty and husband, Wes, Morgantown, WV and Brandi Knisely, West Finley and great grandchildren, Daniel, Gavin and Kinsey Fluharty, Damien Dague and Tyler McAdams. John worked as an operator for CSX Corp. until his retirement and continued farming at home as long as his health would permit. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 PM Sunday, December 8, 2013 at the Humbert Funeral Home in Confluence, where a service will be held at 11 AM Monday, December 9, 2013. Interment will follow in Addison Cemetery.
