SMITH
Jack R. Smith, 73, of Confluence, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at his home. He was born January 30, 1942 in Confluence, a son of Herbert and Mae (Keslar) Smith. His parents, a sister, Geraldine Smith and nephew, Rex Turney preceded him in death. He is survived by two sons, Mark and wife, Vanessa, Berlin and Jack R. Jr. and wife, Donna, Ocala, Florida; four grandchildren, Zoie, Kyra, Zia and Kendall; sisters, Nancy Turney, Confluence, Marilyn Dwire and husband, Roy, Somerset and Sarah Fitzpatrick and husband, George, Confluence; also nieces and nephews. Jack was employed at Middlecreek Golf Course and formerly at Luther P. Miller in Confluence. He was an avid golfer and bowler. He was a graduate of Turkeyfoot Valley High School and Cathman's Business School in Cumberland, Maryland. There will be no viewing or visitation. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday in the United Community Church of God in Ursina with Rev. Samuel McClintock officiating. Interment in Somerset County Memorial Park.
