Hilda Pauline Holliday, 97, of Confluence, went to rest in peace with the Lord on Sunday, October 9, 2022, surrounded by her family, while in the loving care of the staff of The Patriot in Somerset. She was born March 4, 1925 in Addison Twp., a daughter of Charles Thomas and Minnie (Smith) Rodahaver. Her parents, husband, Robert E. (Bob) Holliday, whom she married in 1943 and a brother, Everett Rodahaver preceded her in death. She is survived by five children: Judith Bower and husband, James, Confluence, David Holliday, Berlin, Shari Yediny and husband, John, Somerset, Michael Holliday, Salix and Thomas Holliday and wife, Lisa (Lemansky), Confluence; five grandchildren, James Bower II, Mark Bower, Ronna Holliday Freeman, Zebulon Holliday and Christa Curtis; 13 great grandchildren and 3 great- great grandchildren. She will be missed by a larger extended family. Pauline, as she liked to be known, was a housewife and wonderful mother. She attended Dumas grade school and Confluence High School. She had to drop out of high school at age 13 to care for her mother during her teenage years. She fulfilled her lifelong desire to be a nurse by working for Dr. Price at Price Hospital in Confluence and subsequently by caring for others in her community. At Pauline's request there will be no viewing or visitation. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. The family wishes to thank the staff at The Patriot for the loving care they gave to Pauline, with special mention to Mary Nightingale and Beverly Stevanus of The Patriot and Jenna from Interim Hospice.
