Helen V. Lucas, 88, Rockwood, passed way Monday, January 26, 2026 at Meadow View Nursing Center, Berlin. She was born September 8, 1937 in Piedmont, WV, a daughter of James and Hattie (Harsh) Walker. Her parents, husband, Richard, grandson, Chad Phillippi, step son, Thomas Lucas, four brothers and three sisters preceded her in death. She is survived by a son, Mark Lucas (Vanessa), Markleton, a daughter, Robin Dick (John), Cleveland, NC; step children, James Lucas, Texas and Janet Sanner, Florida; grandchildren, Richard Funk, Ashley Gray and Mark Lucas, Jr.; four great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jenny Walker, Keyser, WV and a close friend and companion, John Bishop, Somerset. Helen was a member of the Kingwood Church of God and was an avid walker and bike rider. Friends will be received from 4-8 PM Thursday at the Humbert Funeral Home in Confluence, where a service will be held at 11 AM Friday with Rev. James Monticue officiating. Interment in Rockwood IOOF Cemetery. There will be viewing one hour prior to the service on Friday.
