Evelyn E. Wirsing, 85, Confluence, passed away Friday, December 4, 2020 at her home. She was born August 19, 1935 in Markleton, a daughter of Charles "Skinny" and Zelda (Younkin) Sanner. Her parents, husband, Don, grandson, Michael Walters, sister, Alice Carpenter and brothers, Everett, Dean, Darl and Terry Sanner preceded her in death. She is survived by daughters, Patricia Younkin, Confluence and special friend, Blaine Rosenberger, Friendsville, MD, Dawn Walters and husband, Charles, Confluence and Susan Guard and husband, Alan, Friendsville; grandchildren, Chelsea Raum and husband, Andy, Wilmington, NC, James Walters and fiancé, Kendall Martin, Hickory, NC, Betty Jo Deal, Confluence and Triston Deal, Meyersdale; great grandchildren, Zoey and Oliver Deal; former son-in-law, Michael Younkin, Virginia Beach, VA; sister, Faye Compton and husband, Leonard, Meyersdale and brother, Pete Sanner and wife, Nancy, Rockwood; sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Morrison, Mary Ann Sanner, and Patty Sanner and brother-in-law, Ron Carpenter. Evelyn was a 1953 graduate of Rockwood High School and a member of the Confluence United Methodist Church. She formerly worked at Somerset Pajama Factory and Camp Soles YMCA. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday at the Humbert Funeral Home in Confluence. Due to COVID-19 occupancy restrictions, a private funeral service for family only will be held on Wednesday with Rev. Dean Hay, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Addison Cemetery. In compliance with COVID-19 guidelines, facial coverings and social distancing required.
