Ella Gertrude "Gertie" Thorpe, 88, Cookeville, TN, formerly of Mill Run, passed away Friday, October 20, 2017 in Cookeville. She was born August 18, 1929 in Connellsville, a daughter of Lloyd Ray and Beulah Bell (Burnworth) Burnsworth. Her parents and husband, Palmer C. Thorpe preceded her in death. She is survived by a son, Keith and wife, Jayne, Cookeville and granddaughters, Chandra and Molly. Gertie worked for many years at the Ohiopyle school cafeteria. Friends will be received from 4-8 PM Monday and from 10-11 AM Tuesday, the hour of service, at the Humbert Funeral Home in Confluence. Interment will follow in Sands Cemetery.
