Dorothy I. Rugg, 94, Ursina, passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at her home with her family by her side. She was born December 14, 1925 in Upper Turkeyfoot Township, a daughter of Arthur and Lovey (Daniels) King. Her parents, husband, Kenneth, sister, Hilda, uncle and aunt, John and Hattie King, who raised her and their son, Blair, preceded her in death. She is survived by a daughter, Loretta Thomas and sons, Roger, Terry, William and Greg Rugg, all of Ursina; grandchildren, Crystal Rugg, whom she raised, Lisa Megown, Mike Thomas and Shannon Rugg; great grandchildren, Anthony and Derek Megown, Zachary, Madalynn and Andrew Farkosh and Kenneth Iscrupe; great great grandchildren, A.J. and Alora Megown and a cousin, Lorraine Umbel, Reynoldsburg, Ohio. Dorothy was a charter member of Ursina American Legion Post 946 Ladies Auxiliary, serving at times as president, vice president and chaplain, United Community Church of God and W.C.S.C., Confluence area Red Hats and a former member of the Ursina Borough Council and election board. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday at the Humbert Funeral Home in Confluence. Viewing also from 10-11 AM Saturday at the United Community Church of God in Ursina, where a service will be held at 11 o'clock Saturday with Rev. Dean Hay, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Kingwood I.O.O.F. Cemetery. In observance of COVID-19 guidelines, masks and social distancing are recommended.
