Dorothy Elaine
Plume
Aug 7, 1930 — Dec 15, 2022
Dorothy Elaine Plume, 92, was called home to the arms of the Lord, Dec. 15, 2022, at her home in Fort Hill, Pa. She was born Aug. 7, 1930, a daughter of the late Russell and Mabel Beachy of Fort Hill. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Denzil G. Plume and their three children, James (wife Linda) of Niles, Ohio, Joyce Martin (husband James) of Somerset, Pa. and Stanley of Fort Hill, Pa., eight grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by two brothers: Byard (Shine) Beachy, Paul (Lucky) Beachy and a sister, Naomi (Susie) Perkins. A sister Thelma Brown (Snook) and a brother Gary Beachy (wife Virginia) still reside in Ohio. Many will remember Dorothy by her nickname "Duck" as a loving, giving and outgoing person, churning and delivering her homemade butter to so many in the community and surrounding area. Also was her joy of deer hunting with family and friends during each deer season. She was an amazing Christian woman and displayed that to her family and all who knew her. She was a member of the Ladies of Bethel in Ursina in the 60's and 70's through the Church of God, attended the Fort Hill Church of God where she taught the adult ladies Sunday School class and also was a song leader for the congregation, a present member of the Ursina Community Church of God and the WCSC ladies church group. Her passion for taking care of her family, involvement in church activities and her children's school activities and farming and gardening kept her busy, but she was never too busy to meet the needs of her devoted husband, Denzil, being at his side, working and farming the fields of various crops. Dorothy's faithful service and commitment to God through her 92 years was demonstrated in the way she lived her life and raised her family. Many fond memories will remain in the hearts of those who knew Dorothy, but none more than the love she showed to family, friends, neighbors and community. May the Lord receive her with open arms as she enters the gates of her Heavenly home. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Sunday at the Humbert Funeral Home in Confluence. A funeral service will be held Monday at 11 AM at the United Community Church of God in Ursina with Pastor Shawn Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in Jersey Cemetery. There will be viewing one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the United Community Church of God, 405 Park St., Confluence, PA 15424.
