Donna Louise (Vanaman) Larrimore, 85, Confluence was welcomed home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 1, 2022. She entered the world on March 18, 1936 in Confluence, a daughter of John C. and Dora Mae (Lilley) Vanaman. After graduating from Turkeyfoot Valley High School in 1954, Donna moved to Baltimore, Maryland where she met and married her husband, George. She returned to Confluence in 1968 to raise her family. For 50 years, she was the pianist at Calvary Community Church where she was a charter member. Donna's greatest love was her family. She spent her time gardening and preserving food for them. She hand pieced and hand quilted quilts for her children and crocheted many afghans and baby blankets for them. Her favorite summer pastime was watching the hummingbirds come to her feeder. They kept her busy making nectar for them. Donna was reunited with her husband of 60 years, George E. Larrimore, who died on June 5, 2020. An infant son, her parents and a brother, Rev. Gerald F. Vanaman also preceded her in death. She left behind her daughters, Saralane (Jeffrey) Reboci, Confluence and Beth (Timothy) Gastley, Rockwood; grandchildren, John Raboci, Mary Raboci, Tom (Lacey) Pritts, Michael (Melissa) Gastley, Nathan (Tasha) Gastley, Ryan (Rony) Gastley and Hannah Gastley; great grandchildren, Olivia Spence, Troy Pritts and Connor, Cydney and Madalynn Gastley; sisters, Hope (Larry) Muse, Forest, VA and Lynda Vanaman, Confluence as well as many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, Donna asked that memorial contributions be made to Samaritan's Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607. At her request, there will be no viewing or funeral service. Interment in Jersey Cemetery.
