Dennis W. "Butch" Hilliard, 59, of Confluence, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2014 at his home. He was born December 4, 1954 in Confluence, a son of Scott F. and Verna Pearl (Thomas) Hilliard. His parents and brothers, Ronald, Ray and Clyde preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Mona R. Tissue-Hilliard, brothers, Martin, Keith and wife, Sandy, Confluence and James and wife, Samantha, Rockville, MD; sisters, Faye Shaffer, Ursina, Kay Thompson, Confluence, Denise Foy and husband, Tom, Jean Hause and husband, Dave, all of Berlin and Sharon Hilliard, Windber. Also, numerous nieces and nephews. Butch graduated from Turkeyfoot Valley Area High School in 1972. He was employed as a security guard at Fallingwater in Ohiopyle and was formerly a police officer in Fairfax County, VA. He was also a member of the Confluence United Methodist Church. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at the Humbert Funeral Home in Confluence where a service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, March 26, 2014 with Pastor Aaron Trincia officiating. Interment will follow in Addison Cemetery.
